About Us
Our mission
The Philadelphia HBCU Alumni Alliance, Inc. (PHBCUAA) is a non-profit community-based organization that consists of Historically Black Colleges & Universities’ Alumni chapters in the Philadelphia Metropolitan and Delaware Valley area. We use our collaborative resources and talents to develop effective programming and services to strengthen our communities, providing support to underserved populations. Our primary pillars of focus are Health & Wellness, Hunger Relief and Higher Education Advocacy for HBCUs. The Philadelphia HBCU Alumni Alliance also serves as an advocate for HBCU Alumni Associations by supporting the mission of all HBCUs through scholarship fundraising, alumni reclamation and student recruitment.
Raising Community Awareness & Providing
The PHBCUAA is at the forefront of a growing movement to raise awareness, provide resources, and offer promising programs that are aimed at supporting at-risk individuals and the communities where they live. Our work is never done alone. We partner with several organizations working toward a common goal. We believe, there is strength in numbers, and that’s why we leverage relationships and collaborate with like-minded organizations because we know it is one of the most powerful and productive investments we can make.
Our History
In April 2020, the HBCU Alumni Alliance hosted a virtual meeting with HBCU alumni chapters to join in on the fun and the opportunity to recruit new members. While only a handful of Chapters were active participants, this was enough to spark a fire that led to the creation of the PhiladelphiaHBCU Alumni Alliance (PHBCUAA).
